Telehealth Program
Sandy Lake Teleheath was brought to the community in April of 2004. The program is meant to enhance patient services to our community by bridging the distance of our remote community to the mainland medical services.
Open houses are a great way to get the word out for your program. We had held an open house for Telehealth at the end of January 2005. It was attended by some Health Staff, Nurses, and a few community members. The Open House was scheduled with a presentation, a demo of the equipment, and refeshments were served. We had connected with Wapekeka and Kingfisher Lake
Here is a demonstarion of the Patient Camera. It has the capability to magnify your skin or any thing up to 50x. This can help your doctor determine what kind of skin condition you may have. This is used mostly for dermatology consults.
Here is an example of the Document Camera being used. It generates an image to the MedCart so that we may put your medical chart for the doctor to see any information that he may need. This was also used to show X-Rays before the digital X-Ray machine was put in to replace analog film.
